The Environmental Health and Safety Office (EHS) is committed to providing guidance, resources, and training to the university community to prepare them for emergencies that may occur on campus, the D.C. metropolitan region, or at home. George Mason University’s emergency preparedness programs are based on guidance and direction from the Virginia Department of Emergency Management (VDEM), the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), best practices, and input from university community members and peer institutions.
