Environmental Health & Safety Office

About Us

George Mason University’s Environmental Health and Safety Office (EHS) partners with various University officials, departments, and personnel to promote health, safety, environmental protection, and compliance with applicable local, state, and federal regulations. This mission is accomplished by establishing environmental, health and safety policies and procedures, providing training, implementing preventive actions, and ensuring continuous improvement of Mason's health and safety programs.

This office was created in October of 2007 for the purpose of providing a centralized office to report safety, health, and environmental concerns or to request assistance with regulatory compliance. This office encompasses five specialized and unique safety functions; environmental compliance, emergency preparedness, fire safety, laboratory safety, and occupational health and safety.
