The Office of Research Policy Development develops university research policies and provides analysis, advice, and advocacy on policy-related matters.

ORPD is responsible for the following:

  • Managing the work of the administrators, faculty, and staff who craft the policies
  • Researching relevant policy and law
  • Identifying issues for consideration
  • Framing alternatives
  • Facilitating the resolution of issues
  • Drafting the policy language
  • Assisting the Vice President for Research in presenting and explaining new policies to the university community
